Game One to the Wings.
Flower was a little soft...some bounces went the wong way. The Pens were not over matched and had plenty of chances. A loss is a loss, but there were positives and like the first game vs the Caps, they know they can play toe to toe. Right back in 20 hours

From the radio commentary it seemed like the game was won and lost on the quality of the goalies.

I would say that is only part of the reason. The Pens scored only 1 goal on 32 shots. Osgood was good but Malkin and Satan had great chances and failed to put the puck in the net.

Fleury needs to not let in the soft goals. The Pens need to figure out out how to get the puck behind Osgood and in the net.

It's simple. The Red Wings are capitalizing on their scoring chances and the Pens aren't.

Osgood is doing a better job than Fleury.

I think the Red Wings got better and the Penguins didn't. It's hard to see. I just hope we don't get swept at this point.

I listen to Detroit sports talk regularly. This morning callers are saying that the Red Wings are getting into Sidney Crosby's head, Malkin should be suspended, and NBC announcers are shills and homers for the Penguins.

I am expecting the series to go six or seven games. Chris Osgood has been great all through the playoffs but the Pens have too many offensive weapons to be slowed down for long.

That is it in a nutshell. You can out shoot or out play a team, but the name of the game is who gets more pucks in the net.

I noticed that whenever the Pens got into scoring position there were already 2 or 3 Red Wings around the net acting as deflectors. It's hard to get anything past that. Seems to me they either need to start taking outside shots before the defense sets or the two wings need to do a better job plowing the road for the center. Very easy for me to say here in my armchair. 8-)

If you want to beat Detroit, you can't play stupid. Yeah, I am talking to you Brooks Orpik. All the momentum in the world and he has to go to the blue line to make a meaningless hit. Result-Wings goal.

STUPID!

The Pens dominated that period but are tied because Orpik is an idiot.

Very frustrating.

And the Wings dominate the Pens in the second, but it's still tied.

This makes me wonder if this series could go exactly the same as last year.
