The Pens win, outplay the Caps, but in game 4, Varlamov gave up some soft goals and is showing some cracks in his game. It appeared that Ovechkin stuck out his knee on Gonchar and knocked him out of the game....maybe for much longer. In order for a Super Star to get suspended, their action has to be obvious for the league to suspend them. He'll most likely be fined. Meantime if Gonch is out, how much worse can the PP get? No time to reflect...a big game 5 to be played as this classic series rolls on.

The Caps are getting too many shots on goal through the 1st period. The Pens defense either needs to step up or the Caps are going to end up winning this game.

Uh, saves would also be 12-11, no?

THe Caps did get off to a hot start and have an 8-0 shot advantage, but the Pens outshot them 11-4 from there on out.

Boudreau in the post game interview looks totally defeated. I can't believe the Pens won this game.

I have adopted a new rule and I will only refer to Caps player #8 as "Dirty 8" until he admits he is dirty, and apologizes.

He deserved an ice skate curb stomping, but i wouldn't want any of our players to get suspended just because of Alexander Ovechicken

Game 5 another chew on your nails OT thriller, The Pens also once again outplayed the Caps and were in control but had a defensive brain fart to let the game get tied late in the third. Poetic justice served as Malkin was tripped on what looked like a possible penalty shot and then scored the GW! Woohoo....on to game 6

Game 6.....cant complain about the effort but damn it the Pens have outplayed the Caps every game but are now down to one game...winner takes all. The wild card in this match up was Varlamov. He is the reason a game 7 is going to be played. The Pens didnt make the best of their chances, the Caps did.....but this says it all

Image

It has been a classic match up and game 7 should be no different.

The Penguins passing is killing the capitals. We have 10 shots to their 5 so far.

4-0 Penguins. We couldn't ask for anything better than what has gone on so far.

5-0. Watching this game has been awesome. I particularly am enjoying shots of the crowd.
