Addendum

I have just noticed on the LIU Post website, that they do have "live stats" and "video" indicated for Saturday's playoff game with Shepherd. Shepherd is offering radio coverage.

Sorry I am late getting the scores posted, but I just back from the Michigan State--Bloomsburg Div I wrestling match . Spartans won 31--12, but there were some bright spots for the Huskies who won three bouts and are on the way back to recovery some of the glory of bygone years. Well, enough of that. Here are the scores of the Div II playoff games.

November 26th, 2016 Scoreboard
*All Games Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Final 12:00 pm
Colorado Mines 17
Ferris State 38
Final 12:00 pm
Shepherd 40
LIU Post 21
Final 12:00 pm
Tuskegee 26
North Greenville 45
Final 1:00 pm
IUP 23
California 44
Final 1:00 pm
Texas A&M-Commerce 32
Grand Valley 55
Final 1:00 pm
UNC Pembroke 17
North Alabama 41
Final OT 1:00 pm
Harding 27
Sioux Falls 24
Final 2:00 pm
Emporia State 13
Northwest Missouri 44

Husky picked 6 of 8 games correctly. He missed the mark with the Harding--Souix Falls and the Tuskegee--North Greenville games. His record for the post-season is now 14--6. Not bad for Husky in the post-season. In some years, he has really gotten his nose bloodied with his picks. I will now start looking for game reports. Since Husky didn't view of the games on the computer, he will probably make very few comments.

Shepherd Takes Out LIU Post On the Roadhttp://www.shepherdrams.com/news/20 ... -post.aspx

Well, I expected Brown to have a big game catching passes and scoring, but I didn't figure on Hlavach's rushing performance. Way to go, Rams!

So now you have all of the reports. Any comments by anybody? Like I said, i didn't see any portions of any the games. So here are the super regional championships match-ups. (Div II national quarterfinals) Shepherd plays at California (PA), North Greenville visits North Alabama in Florence, Ferriss State plays Grand Valley State at Allendale in a GLIAC rematch, and Harding has a date with Nortwest Misssouri State in Maryville. Here are my picks: I see Shepherd with Brown and Hlavach performing at very high levels beating California on their own field, I see Ferriss State upsetting the Lakers in Allendale, Harding is the type of team that could pull the upset over NWMSU but it won't happen with the Bearcats' fantastic front four controlling Harding's ground game (Game could be close.), and I see the Lions of North Alabama winning over North Greenville--provided the former can take care of the ball, which they did not do against UNC-Pembroke. I would not be adverse to seeing Harding upset powerful NWMSU. Such a turn of events would provided added legitimacy the GAC and to Div II football. Nothing at all in the least against NWMSU. I am, of course, rooting for the Vulcans of California to win, but feel Shepherd is on a roll to the national semis. As for my picking Ferriss over GVSU, I just think the Lakers have revealed some shortcomings toward the end of this season Down to eight teams. We will soon see who is around for the national semis.

Winner of the Week

Harding! Nothing more to say! They did it again! Their ground game is devastating!

Winner of the Week for December 3 (Div II Playoffs)

No question! Kudos to Ferriss State for going into Allendale and beating the Lakers of Grand Valley State! Somehow or other I predicted that FSU would win this game. Also, Shepherd beat California at Cal. More later

Super Regional (National QFS) Scores

Shepherd 41
California 30

Ferriss State 47
Grand Valley 32

North Alabama 38
North Greenville 0

Northwest Missouri State 35
Harding 0

Husky picked all four games correctly. Never happened before. His record now for the post season is 18--6. Game reports will follow, as soon as they become available. Of the four games, the only game not available to the non-subscribing, viewing public was the game at NWMSU. I even watched some of the North Alabama-North Greenville game on the computer. Kudos to California, North Alabama, and Grand Valley State for sharing with the football viewing public around the country. A lot of us were watching and are appreciative. Congratulations to Temple for winning their conference championship. Go Nittany Lions tonight.

PSAC Once Takes a Back Seat to MEC This year

http://www.shepherdrams.com/news/2016/1 ... crown.aspx

Needless to say, one Billy Brown played a major role in the Vulcans' undoing. I intimated early in the week this might happen, and I wasn't by any means off the mark. Some say Shepherd played a very weak and insular schedule, but the truth is so did California. Some years back, Chuck Martin the head coach at Grand Valley State after crushing a PSAC foe in the playoffs talked down the PSAC and he might have been somewhat justified with his remarks. As much as I love the PSAC, it is a middle-of-the-pack conference with non-competitive, unrealistic football scholarship restrictions (especially in the PSAC East). Shepherd is going to the national semis!

North Alabama Advances to Play Shepherd in DII Semis

http://www.roarlions.com/news/2016/12/3 ... 0-win.aspx

There was no doubt in my mind what the outcome of this game would be! Seems the Lions will have to travel up North to play Shepherd. A big challenge. Will they be able to shut down Brown?

Historic win for Ferris State!

http://www.ferrisstatebulldogs.com/spor ... 1203th4vwv

I had a strong feeling this was coming, and I glad the Bulldogs pulled it off. Now they have the biggest challenge of all in the Bearcats of NWMSU.
