I'll be running the Chicago Marathon for the second time on Sunday. My first was two years ago and I ran it in 4:18. This time training hasn't gone so well. I tore my left calf in March, my right calf (in nearly the same spot) in late July, and messed up my knee last Saturday. I'm really just hoping to finish at this point as walking is extremely painful.

If you are in church Sunday morning say a quick prayer for me (kind of joking, kind of need a few!) and if you aren't you can follow the race with this link. I'm the only "Adema" so I'll be easy to track.

I can't believe I'll have to deal with the Cubs while I'm there. Sigh.

I applaud thee.

I'm a decent runner, but I know I'd give up after one hour or 10 miles, whichever came first.

26.25 miles is for the birds.

Good job. Mrs. AZBF is running the PHoenix Marathon in Feb. to attempt to qualify for Boston in 2017. She needs to do a shade under 4 hours for her age group (that is a secret),,,,lol......She is on track to do it barring any injuries.... 8-) 8-) 8-)

Thanks all!

My goal was under 4:00 as well. That all changed a week before the race when I injured my knee. I didn't go to the doctor because, no matter what they said, I was going to attempt the race.

It turns out I had (have) a stress fracture in my right patella. That would account for the excruciating pain every...single...step. Needless to say simply finishing the race was the best physical achievement of my life.

Best of luck to Mrs. AZBF!!!!!
