I usually don't follow too deeply the college game but I have always been a fan of the Panthers. I watch them whenever they make national tv. My question is this, how have then done with this years recruiting class? Are they going to continue to rise?

They'll get better when Cavanaugh takes the Jet's QB coaching job.

Their class is considered competant, but not spectacular. They did make inroads into NJ that they did not have before, but lost the two best WPIAL prospects to the Big Ten.

Overall, this class is expected to bring depth and competant starters to the team.

The perception among local sportwriters is that this was a mediocre draft, in line with what ZM said, but that the near future is bright because Pitt didn't lose a lot of guys from last year's 9 win team.

From my perspective, to have any chance of competing for a national championship, they would have to find a quarterback. Stull does not seem to have anywhere near that type of ability.

Theres a kid from Johnstown that was a walk on last season, Pitt made him a D-Back, but he was one of the best QB's in the state in 2007...His name is Marco Pecora, son of Pitt-Johnstown wrestling coach Pat Pecora...Most assumed he was going to go to college to wrestle but chose football instead...

The only down fall is he's like 5'10" or 5'11"...Im assuming thats why he was made a D-Back

From what I seen of Stull (and its a small sample), I thought he was fairly talented.

I want to get back into watching Pitt football, but I spend much of my "kitchen pass" watching the Steelers every weekend.
