not really a big fan of how the nfl thinks its releasing of the nfl schedule is some kind of big holiday that should be celebrated by all, but..the schedule is very weird for the steelers.

-strange we play baltimore two times on national tv, I dont think that has every happened before, for two teams to play twice on national tv in the regular season.
-strange we play thursday night in week 2 then sunday night in week 3.
-strange we play 4 of the first 6 on the road.

Sun., Sept. 7 CLEVELAND BROWNS 1:00 p.m. (CBS/KDKA-TV)
Thu., Sept. 11 at Baltimore Ravens 8:25 p.m. (CBS/KDKA-TV)

If they get off to a fast start (which they can), the schedule is very favorable. Four of their first six games are on the road. Come out of that 4-2 and it sets up nicely. They also finish with two at home.

Other notes: They are playing the AFC South which had one good team last year. Five prime time games including the Ravens twice like you mentioned. The reason that is happening is because CBS has the Thursday night game. They wouldn't let that happen in the past because that's a high-profile rivalry.

yea i know cbs does the first 8 weeks of thursday night football, but its still weird the nfl would allow one matchup to get 2 primetime spots in the regular season.

another weird thing i saw is that chicago and dallas both play thansgving thursday and then they play each other the next thursday, back to back thursday games, thats strange.

your right though bucco boy, 4-2 out of the gate will set up a nice season, i think that is extremely doable. I like this team this year, we need a good draft finally.

Atlanta and Houston both underachieved last year. They are due for bounce back years. And if the secondary isn't fixed, Brees is going to light them up. 8-8 is my prediction right now.

Agreed except for the 8-8 part. 9-7 should be entirely possible (unless a number of things go very wrong).

The Steelers only play one game outside of EST. While the last five games are rough, the first seven are, on paper, extremely favorable. The middle four aren't tough or easy on the whole.

A later BYE is a nice change of pace, too.

10-6 seems attainable, 11 wins or better depending on the draft and coaching transition/player growth.

9-7 seems like the right benchmark; if Vegas has their over/under at 10 go under, at 9 1/2 probably stay away (or bet cautiously).
