I know a couple of managers apparently are not returning this season.

How about a complete list of those managers who will be back for the 2012 UPPMB Fantasy Baseball competition?

Let me start ... put your team where you think it will end up this year:

1. Bucfan Marauders [the proud franchise returns to its old name and does its owner proud]
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.

Yeah, I saw that.

I was wondering about participation among our managers. I understand that NSMaster, possibly IA and possibly BBF were losing interest.

That would be a pretty big turnover. Not as big as the five-manager purge of 2010, but still pretty big.

Eh, its not that I'm losing interest, its just that with a newborn, and living on the west coast, by the time I get to sit down in front of my computer for the night, all the games are over, all the closers have suffered their injuries, and all their replacements have already been plucked off the waiver wire. Its tough to be competitive in fantasy sports when you don't log on until after midnight ET.

But I keep thinking to myself, "Self, you have a good team. Maybe next year you'll have more time and regret giving up your team." And then, myself responds to me saying, "Dammit, BBF, you're right. You dealt with the newborn from May onwards last year and still whooped up on this league of pansies. Why not do it again?"

So I guess I'm in. And I have a built-in excuse if I don't win.

EDIT: To add, I'll be sure to create the league tomorrow evening and invite all previous managers. But don't expect it too early.

There was just too much about the league settings I didn't like. I didn't like not being able to change my lineup (add/drop) the day of games. Honestly, I can't remember most of what I didn't like, I just remember I wasn't a fan.

Oh, and I wish the team names were the message board names.

Anyway, whoever inherits my team will get a pretty good set of keepers.

ESPN let's you change the day of the game. Don't know if a switch would keep you in.

Yahoo allows that switch too. We can just make the change where we are.

By league rules the past two seasons, a newly-added player is not eligible until the day after the addition is made.

I know that same-day player addition and player-eligibility is an option, and every football league I have competed in features game-day addition and eligibility.

I have no problem with that. Given that we are roto and not H2H, I am not sure how much difference it would make. (Though 2 more runs for my team, and two perfect innings by pitchers, would have given me two additional points [one each for R's and WHIP].)

P.S. - Having played both for the past two years, I have become a huge Roto proponent. Also, in my H2H, I finished 4th in the regular season, won the first round playoffs, lost in the semis, lost in the 3rd/4th place game and therefore finished ...

4th.

Would have been little difference had we played Roto. The league stats for the year were available, and when I checked, I would have been competitive in every one. I would have finished somewhere around 3rd, I suspect, given the cursory review I did.

So the final totals for Roto vs. H2H for me, at least, showed little difference. I have found that Roto requires more care in managing because of limits on IP.

Hamels is a top-tier SP, Dutch. Most mocks have him going between 24 and 30.

And you're right - he is money in one particular category ...

And if I finish 4th, I will have seriously botched the draft.

I didn't plan on returning, but if yous guys are hard up for managers to fill up spots I suppose I could make a return...

I can't guarantee I'll be the most 'active' owner, but I'm a 'warm body'.

Just a quick note (hopefully I'll have more online time next week)-

The league is created, and I did change the setting to go to same-day eligibility for new players, since there seemed to be consensus there.

All other rules are set to remain the same. I set it so that keepers need to be selected (10 per team) by mid-March with the draft at the end of the month. In the meantime, we are open for trading, which includes draft picks. For the record, I was not keeping track of the keepers (years eligible, that is), I thought someone else was taking that on. We'll need a decision on what to do here.

And NSMaster, please do feel free to join. I think we have 9 of 12 already signed up- not sure who else we are waiting on...

Saw that the league is up and running, per Yahoo. Thanks, BBF.

Good news for you is that the system is DESIGNED for the managers to mark off keepers themselves. You won't have to take care of that task. Just go onto the team roster index, and you will see the "keepers" option. Click that choice and the roster will take you to the full roster at the end of the 2011 season, with boxes to check off your keepers.

That is fairly easy, so I can do it.

I can simply go to the league's history, and check the rosters at the end of the 2011. Any player on your team as of that date has completed "Year 1."

Will then check to see what players remained keepers through the 2014 season, meaning that 2015 will be the 5th and final season.

Can then give preseason warnings, "Hey, last year for this guy" before the 2015 season.

How does that sound?

SEcond year and still confused. When I bring up my team from last year, I get an error messege and the league is not ours??? I did find our league and see the option for choosing keepers but no other information -- no history of last season?

How do I find the past records? and do I need to check anything off to continue this season?
