Bucfan protests the trade of Octavio Dotel to the Dodgers. I am in a close battle for the lead in saves and K's. Dotel is money for me in both categories, and the trade is not making me happy.

Please have the UPPMB League Commissioners contact MLB and the Dodgers front office, advise them of my protest, and inform them that I will be mollified if and only if (1) Dotel takes over as closer for the Dodgers and (2) Meek takes over that role for the Pirates.

In which case, no problem.

I'd like to urge whoever has their hand up Russell's muppett butt to push for Hanrahan to get the 9th inning save duties...

Also, I would like to announce to the Dodgers that Dotel is best suited for the 7th innings of games in which no save is needed and the game is well at hand...

Neil Huntington is a really smart guy and understands my plight...

Bucfan-

After reviewing your complaint and the corresponding major league rosters, I have contacted the Pirates to request that Joel Hanrahan be made the full time closer, with Evan Meek being moved to mop-up duty. I have also followed up with the Dodgers to ensure that Dotel will only be used in the 7th inning.

I have also spoken with the A's and asked them to accelerate Bailey's return to the major league team, thus moving Breslow to the 7th inning. I hope to speak with the Braves and Rays tomorrow regarding their closer situation. I will urge the Rays to use the newly acquired Chad Qualls as a closer, thus allowing them the luxury of using Soriano in those tight situations where a shut-down reliever is necessary. That should really help your team to rack up the holds.

I hope you find my actions helpful.

Sincerely,
BBF

Joel Hanrahan would like to thank Russell for tonight's save...

I hope Russell is fired tonight. Right now.

Evan Meek is a pitcher who has a future with the Pirates. Russell is trying to win a relatively meaningless (for the Pirates) game in early August, yet has Meek go two innings and more than 50 pitches.

If Meek gets hurt having to go max effort for 2 innings, so that the Pirates can win 61 instead of 58, then Russell will have done an incredible amount of harm to the franchise. Stupid @#%^&*@ left him in when it was CLEAR that Meek was laboring.

And as for the fantasy season ... I am in trouble. Closer bullshit is going to kill me. I am going to drop a lot of ground in saves, and spent so many innings getting my wins that I am going to have to decide which starters should go and which ones should sit. I am incredibly likely to sit a guy who fans 10 and wins, while starting the pitcher who is lit up and takes a giant shit on my ERA and WHIP.

The way this season is unfolding, I am going to lose the lead my mid-September. All those moves and all those trades will not spare me.

But fuckit ... I selected out of the dispersal draft with 70% of the best players unavailable, and put together enough talent via the free agent pick-ups to put together deals for Uggla, Rollins, Dotel, Meek, Choo, Santana, and Konerko.

Took a lot more time than I had planned on spending.

Here's hoping Broxton blows another save. Maybe Dotel can "vulture" a win on behalf of the abortion that has become my bullpen.

On a side note, Joel Hanrahan might be available for trade...
