Nominees for the most disappointing player on your fantasy team this season, even if the player has since been released. The requirements are that he must have been a "top 10" pick or keeper.

My nominee is Carlos Beltran. He had knee surgery, yeah, I get that. But who the hell thought he would have contributed exactly as much to Bucfan's fantasy team by the All-Star break as Bucfan himself? Moreover, if he ever returns, he probably is going to be so hobbled that he is worthless as a base stealer.

So, Carlos Beltran, this boo's for you.

Adam Lind for me. I had him as keepers in both my leagues and he has been very bad with his AVG/OBP and his power has been disappointing as well. I figured he would put up decent numbers for at least two more seasons, but it looks like he might have been a fluke last season.

Dan haren. Javier vazquez. James shields.

Who would have guessed that my second best pitcher would be ian kennedy?

There is a possibility that I wind up with an 11 or 12 in 8 of 10 categories and still don't win the league because these peckerheads have me getting no points in era and whip.

I agree on Haren. I have him in my money league and he was supposed to be my ace. He has been average in baseball terms, but he has sucked for Dan Haren.

Charlie Morton and Jake Fox...

I took Fox because Yahoo Sports showed him as the starting RFer on their depth charts for Oakland...

Aaron Hill-2B Blue Jays. Still trying to get over Mendoza line. Honorable mention to Josh Beckett.

Two solid nominees, particularly where they were selected.

Son is in a fantasy league and he was picking a starting pitcher in 5th round. Lincecum, Carpenter, Greinke, et al. were gone, and he was considering Beckett. I talked him into taking John Lester instead, based on what I had seen in 2009 while watching Lester pitch. The guy is flat-out filthy and Lousville Slugger should give him a check just for the number of bats he breaks.

First two starts, Lester struggles, Beckett doing pretty well. Son was in Bucfan's ear about the advice.

Since then? All is good.

Beckett may be damaged goods. He threw so many innings at a young age that I wonder if he is suffering the consequences.

Agree. I have Lester in another league and always try to get him. Starts slow then is one of best rest of year. We'll see if Beckett has anything left when he comes back for the second half.
