I believed that Billy Wagner would be a solid closer, particularly in the later rounds, based upon his performance with the Red Sox at the end of last year. He was throwing at 96 mph with good control. So far, in 2 innings, 1 base runner allowed, 5 K's, save, 0.00 ERA.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Hunter Pence has started out with the magic bagel. Just two games (I get it, Papi), 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 OBP, 0 SB, 0 RBI's, 0 everything.

I just watched Matt Capps get out of a big jam in the 9th to earn his first save as a Nat.

Did he create the mess? That is what he usually did for the Buccos.
