Listed by position, ranked by ADP:

C: G. Soto
1B: L. Berkman, J. Morneau, A. Gonzalez
2B: B. Roberts, Al. Ramirez, R. Cano
3B: G. Atkins, K. Kouzmanoff
SS: None
OF:A. Soriano, BJ Upton, C. Lee, C. Crawford, C. Granderson, C. Hart, M. Ordonez, J. Dye, V. Wells, R. Ibanez

SP: C. Lee, J. Lackey, S. Kazmir, C. Billingsley, J. Lester, AJ Burnett, E. Volquez, C. Zambrano, J. Chamberlain, M. Cain, Z. Grienke, R. Dempster, D. Lowe, M. Buehrle

RP: B. Lidge, M. Rivera, J. Broxton

Of these 36 players, 30 will be selected in the expansion draft. Following the draft, I will notify each owner who they lost, and each owner will be permitted to replace lost players with someone else from their roster prior to the draft.

ASAP. Since corsair never joined, I invited Ryann today. I would like to do the expansion draft no later than this Thursday...depending on the availability of yourself, cappscrew, and Ryann. If we find a time everyone is available, whoever can't make it can pre-rank. With only 36 players, pre-ranking shouldn't be an issue.

I'll also draw out of a hat your names to determine the draft order. Whenever it comes to the real draft, whoever chose #3 expansion draft will choose #1 overall, etc.

So if you, cappscrew, and Ryann would be so kind as to let me know your availability tomorrow (Wed, the 18th) and Thursday, I'll set something up. Other managers are invited to watch, if interested.

For me, any time after 5 p.m. tonight, and just about any time Wednesday and Thursday (prefer evenings, though).

Kojak and Cappscrew:

Head over to the Yahoo league page to start the draft. We'll do it by posting messages at the bottom of the main league page.

Expansion draft took place this evening. I'll list the results here, each manager needs to replace the guys he lost with someone else from their roster. If that is unclear, I'll break it down this weekend.

EZ Pickins drafted: Berkman, Granderson, Kazmir, Ordonez, Grienke, Soto, Volquez, Cain, Broxton, and AJ Burnett.

5Year Plan drafted: BJ Upton, Crawford, Carlos Lee, Billingsley, Lackey, Atkins, Ibanez, Zambrano, Joba, and Dye

CappsCrew (auto)drafted: Soriano, Morneau, ROberts, Adrian Gonzalez, Alexei Ramirez, Hart, Cliff Lee, Lidge, Cano, and Mariano

That means the following spots need filled:

Steamers: 4
Chicos: 3
Parrots: 4
Polka: 4
Warriors: 2
dan: 4
Rich: 4
IAPirate: 2
Anteaters: 3

If you are unclear about your # or who you lost, let me know. Let's try and name replacements by Monday at the latest so I have time to enter the rosters and set the draft order (reverse of the season-ending standings with the new teams having the first 3 picks)

IA: not the real draft, just the expansion draft. The real draft is next Thursday. You just need to replace the 2 keepers of yours that were taken.

Thank you.

Question. Since we were refilling our 10 players from our own roster could we have actually NOT protected 4 of our really good players only to refill our roster with them. And then made 4 lesser players available for the expansion draft. Not saying this would've been fair to the new guys but conceivably could that have been done? Just saying because I think it is already going to be hard for the new guys and that is something to make sure doesn't happen. Of course I am wishing I would have thought of it before now!!! Anyway....

PirateParrots add: Andre Either, Ryan Ludwick, Carlos Delgado, and James Loney

It absolutely could have been done, Parrot. But the problem with that is that if you put up 4 lesser players, they would be less likely to get taken (there were 36 players and only 30 taken). So if you had put up Mora and Wheeler, for instance, and they don't get taken, you have to keep them. So its in your best interest to put out reasonably talented players to avoid getting stuck with some bad ones. I suspect that there are those among us who tried just that, and now are keeping guys like Kevin Kouzmanoff. <cough Chet cough>

Yeah I got *stuck* with Lowe, but all in all my strategy worked out ok I guess.

Good point. This was my first experience with an expansion draft so I guess I didn't think everything through....not the first time I've done that!

Steamers are adding Davis, Quentin, Kemp, and Bruce. They are also talking about themselves in the third person for reasons they don't quite understand.

Shark and IA-

Please post your "replacement" keepers ASAP.

Shark, if we don't hear from you soon, I'm going to invite another owner to take your team. I think the rest of the managers all want someone who is going to be active....

A reminder to everyone else- the draft is this Thursday at 8pm. If you aren't going to be able to make it, don't forget to pre-rank your players. Nothing is worse than getting stuck with the guys Yahoo! likes....
