I played the first game of the 2009 season the other day on MLB The Show for PSP. Buccos lost 7-4 in 12 innings. Maholm pitched well. Jesse Chavez gave up a 3 run homer to Pujols in the 12th to end the game. Box score is on my blog. If you guys like that, I can do a regular thing on the blog and here predicting game results. It'll be fun to see how close to reality I can get.

I used to always be anal retentive about keeping my video game rosters identical to real-life rosters. But when I hit 83 homers in a season with Kevin Young, and Chris Peters won the Cy Young with a 1.5 ERA, I knew there was no way to make video games reflect real life.

I believe Madden football is closer to getting it right than the baseball games but it doesn't hurt to see how close it is.

Hey CappsCrew. I would like to see more of these. However, I would put them in the fantasy section instead.

One season I played MVP Baseball 2005 and had Dave Williams finish the season 32-0 in 33 starts, had 32 complete games and had a 0.03 ERA, the 33rd game he got ejected because I accidently hit Albert Pujols and he charged the mound...John VanBenschoten, Sean Burnett, Josh Fogg, and Kip Wells was the rest of my starting lineup...I traded Oliver Perez for Alfonso Soriano

I need to find my Gamecube and see if I still have that saved...

He better have won the Cy Young that year.

The closest thing to get it to reality is to set it to the hardest level and either watch or simulate the game.Don't play it out yourself.

Thats how i feel about alot of stuff that could be going under the fantasy forum. Nothing much goes on there so takes some hacks at getting something good going.
