What a monster series. I'm confident that if the Pirates don't take 2 of 3 the playoff chances are over for our beloved Buccos. If the Pirates take 2 of 3, hold on to your hats.

Neil Walker was a late scratch in this game because of lower back tightness. Harrison moves to 2B, Barmes in at SS. New batting order is Tabata, Snider, Cutch, Jones, Pedro, Harrison, Barajas, Barmes, Burnett.

Hope A.J. has it tonight. Methinks his margin for error just decreased significantly.

The Pirates play a Rush song as their intro tonight. And the collective vaginal moisture in the building immediately diminishes by 15%.

Zero run first inning for Burnett. Thanks, A.J.!

That alone should earn him at least 1 CY vote.

In case anyone was wondering, the MLB record for assists recorded by a pitcher in a game is 12. Which means that, through 2 innings, A.J. is 25% of the way there.

GJ did his best, Pedro did his job and got on and Harrison came through with the SF, but...

It still would have been nice to have Walker up there in that situation.

Too bad. Hope he's healthy soon!

Getting that 2nd run was huge. Settling for 1 would have been something of a letdown. With 2 runs scored, we can definitely chalk the inning up as a success.

Now if Barajas can do anything here, that's gravy.

Woulda liked to have gotten more, but at least they got more than 1.

So, my attention was on the baserunners and I missed it; on Schumaker's double, why did Cutch hold on to the ball for so long?

And, with the Barmes error, the crowd in Section 323 officially turns ugly. :?

Pains me to say it, but this team has no heart.

I vehemently disagree. They have heart. They just aren't as good as the Cardinals (yet).

I know my eyesight isn't what it used to be, but I ain't seeing it.

And it's not just the Cardinals, and it's not just tonight.
