That guy is obviously the St. Louis version of Bob Smizik.

The Cards hit some outs right at people. Just how the game goes. That guy is an idiot and sounds like he should be a Boston sportswriter but hey - I hope he's right!

I liked this quote -

"The young and ravenous contenders refused to be denied in the quest to outlast the tired, malfunctioning old champion."

Lets see if that holds true after we play 3 more versus them here next week.

He had way more solid numbers than Smizik could ever dream of. I liked his point about the Cardinals' offense piling up some big victories but in reality the team is at .500 since sometime in May and has scored no more than 3 runs in almost half those games. That's why their run differential looks so much better than their record, and why sometimes run differential, like many other stats, can be misleading. Like Cruz's ERA...

The young ravenous contenders blew like 4 chances before their big 19th inning. The young ravenous contenders f-ed the s out of their chance on Saturday. It's baseball.

Come, come now.

If every writer felt like an idiot after being proven demonstrably wrong about something they wrote... :D
