It seems like everyone missed it, or it just wasnt important, but Alvarez is in town and might be signing his contract once the Union is done with their little fit...

I am glad he is in town.. even that scott B is..!

I can't wait to see pedro play and hopefully will be a bright spott for this organisation..!

This Kid just got brainwashed by a agent who wanted more money.. probably i would have done the same
thing when i was pedro.. less or more money, it still is money and it blinds you..!

I will cheer for this kid directly. he is here, he will play and we never heard his story

Go Pedro. work your ass off and show what u got

CHEERIO

Y'know I wish I hadn't blamed Pedro so much. We really don't know what the situation was. Maybe the Bucs tried to screw him, illegally. It may have not been the kid's fault. All is forgiven. He's a buc now so I won't hate him until we trade him. Irrational? Maybe. But that is one of the priveleges of being a sports fan.

C'Mon Jim, you don't actually believe that do you? Its negotiations, each party tries to "screw" the other, so to say. Boras and Alvarez were pissed that the Pirates didn't cave under the pressure. Add the fact the #% pick got a better deal and walllah, we have a brusied ego sports agent trying to bully the MLB.

PF13, for future reference, it's "voila," not "wallah."

It's not called being a sports fan, it's called being a hypocrite.

Piratesfan13 makes a decent point. They were trying to screw each other. But it worked out in the end so I don't hold it against him though. If he had been awarded with free agency though I would have put a flaming bag of doggy poo on his porch and laughed as he stomped on the poo! Ha!
Hypocritical JerJer? Well is it hypocritical to boo Bonds/Bonilla/Hossa/Jagr? Nope. It's your god given right as a ticket buying customer to boo the guys who you don't like. It always has been.

I don't care anymore.

Glad he's a Pirate and a major step toward re-building the system. Now as we go for a very good pick again plus an extra third rounder, we may actually be getting somewhere.

Two or three more years.
