Time for ARod to step his game up in the clutch .... It's nice to average 45+ HRs and 120 RBI's a season; HOWEVER, you MUST perform in the clutch at some point in your Yankee career. Plain and simple... A HR when it doesn't matter comes from this guy WAY TOOOOO MUCH! I'm calling him out... He needs to step up or get out... I'd take Brosius back in a heartbeat over him.. At least with Brosius, he understands the sense of urgency of driving in a run when it counts...

This is a quote I come accross on the http://www.prosportsdaily.com site.

Yah I'd take Brosius and his what, 15 Hrs and .257 lifetime average over AROD anyday

The Yankees are dead... its so sweeeet. Hey how are them guys doing we dumped on you at the deadline?

This ENTIRE team offensively has wet the bed, but guys like ARod... and JETER... are paid a ton of money to NOT be pressing at this point in the season. No excuses guys... Time to put up or shut up... We have the pieces in place to actually win this thing. For some reason we've developed a brain fart with RISP... And it's the absolute wrong time of the season for this to happen... We're making waaaayyy too many 1st and 2nd year pitchers (as well as mediocre at best relief vet pitchers) look like Cy Young out there... It's almost degrading...

And it goes on... although it sounds a little bit familiar there at the end.

I love the comment about how the pieces have been put in place for them to contend, and somehow A-Rod is not doing his part despite having a statistical season that a fan of any other team would take in a heartbeat. Yeah, it's all A-Rod's fault, not Yankees management for putting together a team of injury prone geriatrics.

When the plan for your rotation is to rely on unproven rookies and aging, over-the-hill vets like Pettite and Mussina to hold up over an entire season, you should re-evaluate your championship prospects.

And of course, there's likely going to be some guy who claims that the absence of Joe Torre is the reason why the Yankees will not reach the playoffs this year.

Just shows to go ya, some people complain no matter. That lousy A-Rod, what a waste.

Sportscenter showed a graphic comparing Torre's record with the Yankees to this point last year and Girardi's record this year. They didn't draw any conclusions but the implication was obvious. I'd like to be able to claim that the Yankees would have been even worse off this year with Torre, but I'd have about as much evidence as those that claim that Torre would have gotten them to the playoffs this year.

At least the yankees are competitive unlike a certain pittsburgh pirates team that has 16 consecutive losing seasons!

Im not a yankee fan though. However every year they put a competitive team on the field. And its not ALL money. They have done well drafting players and finding good talents. I believe players like tabata chamberlain cabrera those guys were all "homegrow" yankee players. Theres many more the yankees are an A class organization. The pirates have been an embaressment im the fan of the most embaressing team in baseball.

Mmmmm Part of that, u r right.. but can we finally leave the DaLil Bitch (mr Littlefield) era behind us.. we know we
stink / stank / stunk whatever.. we know about the drafts etc etc etc

But what u r completely wrong with.. maybe its not ALL the money, but for 95% it helped!!

if we had money: A-Rod, Giambi, Mussina, Pudge, Abreu, Damon

if we had money we could have kept: Aramis Ramirez, Nady, Bay, Marte and counting

and i haven't given the names of already retired players....

SO COME ON Ryann.... you are right.. its not ALL about the money

Cheerio

Bay nady and marte were not money issues. It was more of getting better depth in the team and they got a stud prospect out of it with other good ones.
Look at tampa bay, florida they put competitive teams on the field while spending less money then the pirates!
