I can't believe it hasn't been brought up yet. What the FVCK was Dusty doing with Volquez last night? This kid is the future of your rotation for the next handful of years and you leave him out there in the 6th when he was obviously laboring and his pitch count climbed past 100. There wasn't even anyone throwing in the pen. Volquez gets it figured out and gets out of the inning. Then he sends him back out for the 7th???!!!!! In a meaningless game.

I guess it worked so well with Kerry Wood and Mark Prior, why not try it with Volquez?

Well, as someone with Volquez in nearly all of my dynasty leagues, I would like it if Dusty would stop being Dusty.

I imagine Reds fans share your sentiment.

I'm no fan of the Cubs, but I thought that the way Dusty would force Prior and Wood to pitch their arms into oblivion was damn near criminal. I hope such a thing does not happen to a great talent such as Volquez.

117 pitches, in a meaningless game, for a 25 year old, makes no sense.

Tell that to Jim Tracy.
