Ohlendorf had a very good outing two starts ago, on August 24. He went 8 innings, gave up just 5 hits, 1 run, 1 BB, 6 K's. He followed that up on August 29 by going 5 innings, giving up 7 hits, 3 runs, 0 BB, 5 K's. He won both starts.

McCutchen has had a yo-yo record while with Indy. Good start, bad start. Yesterday was the good start - 7 innings, 5 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB, 9 K's. Outstanding start. So far with Indy in 6 starts, he has gone 48 innings and has walked just 7 while fanning 41.

His problem has been the long ball. He is giving up a ton of HR's - 12 in just 48 innings with Indy.

I believe he gave up 4 in 4 innings in a recent start. That notwithstanding, I thought he strung together several quality starts right after we got him.

Me too. I don't understand why they waited so long to bring him up, actually. I say let's get him out there and see what he can do!

He went 6 innings in each of his first 3 starts, giving up 3 or 4 runs in each. Of his 8 starts, 5 qualify as "quality starts."

They wanted him to work on being a starter again to learn to stretch his arm out longer work...
