Ever since the all-star break he has gone downhill!!! What is wrong with him. He has to realize he cannot try to put the ball out of the park at every at bat. He is a good player, don't get me wrong, but ever since he went to New York he has been a bust since then.
Please any answers from the crew!!!

I think he is hitting the proverbial wall right now. He hasn't played a full MLB season until this year. I'm not too worried about him for future years.

Exactly.

Plus the league has probably adjusted to him, now he has to adjust himself. Thats what makes great players great(damn I sound like Madden)

Let's face it, Nate was playing over his head. I was surprised he was playing that well for that long, and am not surprised that he has tailed off. The trades put a lot of pressure on him and that hurt him.

I still think that he's a legitimate every day outfielder and that he will show that as time passes.

I think he'll pace himself better next year and learn how to deal with the grind of a 162 game season. This is uncharted territory for him. He's a perrenial 20-25 HR 90 RBI guy IMO.

i agree with everyone. also i think recently nate has been sick some?? that with the added pressure he's putting on himself ( i know i would be ) since the trades and hitting the wall is the reason he's tailed off. im not worried. the season is over and im sure nate will be fine for future years.

I just read on MLB.com that Nate was sick and even tested for mono(came back negative). Has he signed a contract for next season or will he be a free agent at the end of the season?

McLouth is still under Pirates control, he will probably get a hefty raise in Arbitration or a multi-year deal
