For all of yinz who've heard people say that you've got to see a game at Wrigley Field in your lifetime, but aren't sure whether or not to believe it, believe it. This place is incredible. Never seen anything remotely like it, a baseball experience like no other. And I totally lucked out with my seat, on the field behind home plate but yet in the shade, plus it's a beautiful day with a nice steady breeze. Let's play two! :D

Actually, the guy to my right is from Mt. Lebanon and the guy to my left is from Kansas City, on a ballpark tour with his wife. 8-)

Not long after next year's schedule is announced, I'm planning on purchasing an early Megabus ticket to Chicago for a Pirates/Cubs game at Wrigley. It will be my first. Only downside is that I absolutely love the city and won't be able to do anything else. But you really can't beat the early Megabus tickets sometimes being below $10.

Just chatting with a friend of Michael McKenry's, up from Tennessee for the weekend. Good times. And the game looks like it's going to resume in about 10 minutes.

What was his name? I'm from Knoxville too and good friends with Michael's brother....whom I hung out with last night actually.

Never caught his name, Slick, sorry. At first, I asked him if he was you.

No, I've got a family function back in PA. I'm on my way back home, typing this from a rest stop on the Indiana Turnpike. Wish I was staying for tomorrow's game, though; I am definitely going back to visit the Friendly Confines again someday.

A busload of shellshocked Notre Dame fans just entered the rest stop. They're all muttering to themselves.

I took some pictures at the game and posted them to my Facebook account. Click below if you'd like to see.

Judge:

You magnificent Bastard! :D What a game to see! Thanks for the good luck! And I wasn't there to see it with you for once, huh?

Interesting coincidence. Back in 2000, (the year you and I were at the game and I caught the foul ball at Three Rivers) Jody and I went to Chicago to see the Bucs play the Cubs and we got to see one of those amazing comebacks in the last at bat. I think they put up six or seven in the 9th (Pat Meares hit a two run shot among other things).

Hey we definitely need to see a game or two together next summer, hopefully AFTER I buy you a steak dinner. One thing's for sure, we ain't leaving until the final at bat! :D

Sounds like you had a great time in Chi-town. I'm envious :) As a USF fan and Notre Dame hater, I had a great sports day yesterday. I did a lot of channel flipping between between the Bucs on WGN and USF on NBC. Needless to say, I'm very proud of both squads' efforts yesterday.

I stumbled over this. Im going on the 25th and sitting two rows behind the pirate dugout. It will be cool. More irony is the Prince of Pittsburghs tag. It says rebuilding since 1992. I have a shirt that says exactly that. Im taking it with me to get the players to sign it. I am pumped up.

I haven't been to Wrigley and I'm just missing it this year (I'll be in Chicago first week of MLB playoffs). Really want to make it to a game at some point. Chicago, when it's not cold, is my favorite U.S. city.

The quote that is my tag is actually from that shirt, Rotten One. I believe that I have that very same shirt. One one incarnation of this board, a picture of that t-shirt was my tag. I wore that shirt to every Pirates game that I have attended since Spring Training of 2007 though my PNC Park trip in April. I decided not to wear it to my trip in Miami in July due to the Bucs actually being in contention at a game that I was attending. I will officially retire that shirt and change my tag when the Bucs clinch a playoff spot :)
