Daniel McCutchen won his start against Buffalo last night, going 7 innings, giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, 5 K's. He has now thrown 19 innings for Indianapolis, giving up 16 hits, 9 runs (4 in the first start), with 6 BB's and 11 K's.

Ohlendorf won on Sunday, August 3, going 7 2/3, giving up 6 hits, 3 runs (2 in the last inning, with the reliever actually giving up the hit that scored those 2), 1 walk, 9 K's. He has pitched 13 2/3 innings for Indy, giving up 13 hits, 7 runs, 3 walks, and an impressive 14 K's.

So, combined, these two in their last starts went 14 2/3 innings, gave up 10 hits, 5 runs, 2 walks, and 14 K's.

They're both in Indy, correct? If so, I suspect Ohlendorf will be in Pittsburgh shortly.

Correct. I think that both will be given a long look in September. They could remain in Indy for a few weeks, since Indy's pitching was just wretched before they joined the team.

I was hoping one of those two guys would be up here to start Sunday. We'll have to wait a little longer.

Me too, but I think they want to wait until next year to even get McCutchen's ML clock ticking, and Olendorff wasn't 'stretched out' enough yet.

Don't get me wrong, if I were in charge I would have brought up one of them to start, but I think this is their reasoning for not.
