Tabata hit 2 HR's and drove in 5 runs today for the Gulf Coast Pirates.

If he keeps this up, he may no longer be "touchable."

And by the way - Hererra is very, very, very "touchable."

Capps also went one inning in that game. He pitched the first, to control when he would go into the game and avoid having him throw too many or too few warm-up pitches.

I had never heard of Tabata before (I really don't pay attention to any minor-league teams, though). But anyway, this guy turns 20 in a week, and he's doing this well? I think I just developed a spring in my step! Actually, I could be a Pirates pitcher and it could just be a limp.

Bucfan, I've also been following his brief rehab assignment on the net. You beat me to the punch with this post. But, did I miss something with the "touchable" line. That one went right over my head. Sorry if it was discussed with a previous thread.

That is the kind of dominance that will get Huntington's attention in a hurry. Andrew McCutchen may not be considered our number 1 prospect much longer. We heard the reports Tabata could hit. TIme will tell but Huntington may have hit one out of the ball park on this trade.

They're the same age, yet Cutch is hitting well in AAA, while Tabata is rehabbing in the GCL, but was not doing anything in AA this year. Tabata might turn out to be the better player when all is said and done, but until/if Alvarez signs, Cutch has nothing to worry about.

Andrew is hitting okay in AAA and Tabata is killing GCL pitching, which he should. I am beginning to think that McCutchen is not going to be the stud he was projected to be. I have a feeling we may very well be in for a treat with Tabata. No facts to base this on, just a feeling. As far as Alvarez goes, time will tell.

BBF, you know better than that. Tabata is way too old for Michael. ;)

I am making fun of all these "baseball executives" talking about obtaining "untouchable" players. I have noted that any player involved in a deal must presumably be "touchable," as otherwise he would not have been traded.

In 2007, Tabata was "untouchable." This year, he was dealt, so he must have become "touchable." If he keeps hitting like this as a 19-year old, he will once again become "untouchable."

The following must be read aloud to make sense. Do not rely on the written version.

Q: What does Michael Jackson love about twenty-eight year olds?

A: There are 20 of them.

Q: Did you hear Michael Jackson came down with food poisoning?

A: Yeah, that's what happens when you eat a 6 year old weiner.

Oh, I think we just crossed the line, no?
