One thing that bothers me is when people say "We won't know if Neal made a good trade or not, for a few years." That is no different than saying "I will let you know if you should have played the lottery or not, after the numbers are drawn." It is not fair to the GM's if we can't make a decision weather or not we like the trade NOW. If these guys are all busts that isn't the GM's fault. All you can do is aquire guys who look like good players. In the Bay trade we recieved 2 guys who were taken in the first round within the past 3 years, a guy who was ranked 15th of all prospects at the begining of the season, and the Red Sox minor league player of the year. That is some great haul for Jason Bay, who is a very good player, but not a Bonds/ A-Rod kind of player.

Good point JimY and welcome to the board

After reviewing the trade, the Pirates scored pretty nice, Some will say that the Dodgers got the best of the deal, some say the Red Sox, but Pittsburgh didn't do all that bad. Thank God, we didn't have DL running this negotiation

You mean you wouldn't want to see Barry Zito in the black and gold?!?!?

Maybe a 3 team deal that would bring Zito and Andrew Jones in.

Yes, but only if we pick up the remainder of their contracts. I could see DL salivating over the prospect of bringing in two past All Stars.

He probably would have signed David Wells to help bolster the pitching staff too

A Potential team with Matt Morris, Barry Zito, David Wells, Bullington, and Van Benschoten as your starting staff
Along with Kose Hernandez, Andruw Jones, Nyjer Morgan, and Cesar Izturis all on the 25 man roster too

I cannot reveal my secret sources ... but if you go to the google home page and click the "images" tab, you can then type in any image you want to find (guy riding a bicycle) and you will find dozens of pictures.

Just be careful what you ask for. Somebody here - not me - conducted a search and put in the term "kissing." The results were apparently ... ehhhh, a little too much.

I was listening to the Boston @ Kansas City game, and Jason Bay struck out looking. I got a little teary-eyed as I was reminded just how much he'll be missed.
