Walk. Classic Bay at bat - will not go out of his zone. Duchsherer failed to throw strike one and he paid the price.

JBay comes around on a double and sac fly to score the first run for the Sux.

And the Sox announcers exhibit a complete lack of knowledge about the Pirates, saying the following about Bay:

"He had 22 HR's and 64 RBI's with the Pirates and had no protection in that lineup."

Apparently, these dumbsh*ts are too lazy to note that the Pirates are 3rd in the NL in runs scored and had two guys with an OPS well over .900 (Nady and Doumit) hitting behind Bay this year.

Idiots.

Maybe but my take is that they could well have known about the Pirate offense, but were shills for Sox management and wanted to make Bay look even better by having no help in Pittsburgh.

Then again we are talking about Boston announcers, ain't we!

Yea, but they weren't named Ortiz. And I see they moved Ortiz up to third anyway. Of course on the flip side I suppose 15 years of losing will cause people to not pay real close attention to ya.... However, I agree if you are getting paid to announce surely you should have a bit more knowledge than that.

Particularly since one of the guys who hit behind Bay, Xavier Nady, was traded to the Yankees and Sux fans shrieked because the Yanks obtained such a good hitter.

Pay the ^%$ attention.
