Jeff Niemann RHP 6'9", 270 lbs. DOB 2/28/83. 25 years old. (This feature put in for those who suffer Bucfan disease and occasionally cannot add.) Features 94-95 mph fastball, slider, and curve with significant movement. Pitched at Rice, where he led the Owls to the CWS two straight years. Went 17-0 for Rice in 2003 season. Won first game of his career April 28, 2008 by beating the Orioles. Went 6 innings, allowed 2 runs. 7-4, 3.21 ERA at AAA Durham this year with 85 K's in 89.2 innings. Went 12-6, 3.98 ERA, 123 K's in 131 innings at AAA Durham last year. Power pitcher, considered to be top-of-rotation material. Physically dominant. Very aggressive in attacking hitters on the inside corner. Not afraid to move hitters off the plate. Deemed 7th best prospect in Tampa organization prior to this season.

Reid Brignac SS L/R 6'3", 180 lbs. DOB 1/16/86. 22 years old. Tall, rangy SS. Bats left. Reported to have tremendous work ethic. Might have to move from SS due to fielding problems. Very quick bat. Good power potential. If he can field the position well enough to stay at SS, projects as an offensive "plus" at the position. Decent OBP, above-average power. Struggled a bit in A ball in 2005 at age 19, fanning 131 times. Rallied in 2006 to post a combined 32 2B's, 24 HR's, 99 RBI's, 42 BB's and 113 K's in 521 at-bats. In 2007, posted 30 2B's, 17 HR's, 81 RBI's, 55 BB's, 94 K's in AA. In 2008, hitting .254/.302/.416 with 25 2B's, 8 HR's, 42 RBI's in 327 at-bats in AAA. Called the 5th best prospect in Tampa organization before this season.

What the hell? Who are the guys from the Dodgers?

Geez, talking about showing up in a costume to a formal event.

Don't worry ... I reported my own post as being completely off base and irrelevant.

I thought that the Bucs were getting prospects from the Rays?

Geez, now I have to see if any of these freaking Dodger players are worth a damn.

I will say this - the Dodgers did not like Andy Laroche. They traded for Casey Blake, a statue at third, rather than play Laroche. I was freaking praying that the Bucs did not wind up with another Laroche.
