From MLB.com

After all the talks about Bay heading to Tampa Bay or Boston, it appears that the Dodgers may have landed the Pirates left fielder just prior to the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

MLB.com has confirmed that they were a late player in the race for Bay and that it was L.A. One industry source in Pittsburgh believes that a deal between the two clubs has been made.

Stay here for more details.

Hopefully NH was able to fleece Colletti, who is hanging on to his job by a thread.

Just when it seemed the Red Sox weren't going to be able to find a deal for star slugger Manny Ramirez, they have reportedly dealt the right-handed hitting run producer to the Los Angeles Dodgers. SI.com reported the news. The Boston Globe also reported that the Red Sox had traded Ramirez, but didn't say where. Rumblings are that Jason Bay is in fact going from Pittsburgh to Boston to make it a three-way deal.

Details to come.

The Pirates traded All-Star left fielder Jason Bay to the Boston Red Sox as part of a three-team deal in their only move before Major League Baseball's 4 p.m. deadline.

Boston sent outfielder Manny Ramirez to the Los Angeles Dodgers as part of the deal. The Pirates will receive Brandon Moss, Craig Hansen, Andy LaRoche and Avery Morris.

Avery Morris? Did he mean Bryan Morris by chance?

I am trying to find these guys. LaRoche is the consensus No. 2 prospect for the Dodgers so this is a good haul. Hansen and Moss are pitchers from the Red Sox, 24 and 25 years old. Morris is the unknown. His name is Bryan as well. He is listed as first round pick in 2006, but I can't find out much more.

They are all studs.

I think the trade stinks. We'll develop these new guys and then trade them so they can become all stars somewhere else.

With all the bucco offense being traded away, and the pitchers giving up ten runs a game, there is no point in even watching the rest of the year.

We didn't develop Bay, Marte, or Nady.

This page shows Morris pitching in 2006 and 2008, but not 2007. Anyone know why?

Yes, but there is a reason to watch them in 2009.

There was little reason to watch them to begin with. Now there's reason to watch them next year. That was not the case a week ago.
