The Pirates want at least three prospects in return and they won't budge. Toronto was talking to them today as well.

I think the Pirates will hold their ground and nobody else will budge which is fine.

We keep Bay for another year.

Never underestimate the desperation of a Major League baseball team.

The fact that the Marlins, Phillies, and Mets want Manny is proof of that.

It actually doesn't make sense to me why Tampa wouldn't make the deal for Bay. They are in first place. Their farm system is deep. They should be going for it now despite the fact that they "arrived" a year earlier then they expected.

They don't know how to act. The Red Sox, Angels, and even the Marlins have been there before. Tampa hasn't.

I think the deal gets done.....it just depends on who blinks first.

Somebody noted that Tampa may be going the Minnesota Twins route - refuse to trade young prospects, wind up a close second or third and out of the playoffs, repeat process next year.

They can call me when Minnesota wins a World Series.

No risk = no reward.

I can give proper credit now - Jeremy made a good observation.

But I hear that Minnesota may be interested in obtaining a free agent right-hander named "Morris" to get them back to the series . . .

Maybe they can get Jay Gibbons from the Brewers since the Cubs demolished them this week.

I have it on good authority that Kent Hrbek is making a comeback.

I'll bet Rickey Henderson would be willing to make one last run at it as well.

I think that Tampa made a BIG mistake.

Yep. They were to affraid to "go for it" ... they will regret not offering more to get Bay.
