That $9 million is on top of paying the rest of Manny's salary. Boston is getting squeezed pretty good it seems.

From the Associated Press:

Apparently, Manny Ramirez isn't the only MegaStar rumored to be involved in a 3-way. Alex Rodriguez is also rumored to be involved in a blockbuster 3-way.

One of the other two parties involved is Madonna, though the third party remains unknown. Among the parties rumored to be involved are Lenny Kravitz, Courtney Love and Cynthia Rodriguez.

Outstanding. I'd opt for the last option of Cynthia and Madonna.

Yet another official with one of these three teams says the Manny-Bay deal is dead. In the aftermath, the teams involved seem unsure of what happened. The Pirates are blaming the Marlins. The Marlins are blaming the Pirates. And the Red Sox aren't too happy with either of them.

Hello Tampa. What have you got for us?

Madonna???? I'd be demanding much younger prospects, as I feel she is too old for her level.

Indeed. Whatever veteran experience she may have is sharply mitigated by her diminishing skills.

She's still skilled enough for Justin Timberlake. Besides, she'd be mainly a backup to Cynthia.

You're right. She'd command too much money to be a backup to Cynthia.

I might be willing to pay to see her as a backup to Cynthia.

Madonna certainly fits the bill as a "veteran." Her first performance was in front of Teddy Roosevelt, I believe.

If my wife looks like Madonna when she's 49, I'll consider myself a veru lucky guy.

Besides, true players know that women just get better with age.

Florida seems to be giving up a lot for a two month rental. They've already said they won't look to extend Manny after the season. This seems almost too good to be true. And as for Boston, Bay ain't no Ramirez.

On the contrary, Bay IS Ramirez, with better defense, good speed, hustle, and a good attitude. Bay at 29 isn't Ramirez at 29, but Bay at 29 is the equal of Ramirez at 36, without all the baggage.
