Its proximity to midtown Manhattan (and the fact that rents are cheaper) is what makes it appealing to my daughter. Don't know how recently you've been there, but you might be pleasantly surprised by all the gentrification that has taken place in recent years.

Careful, there, gentlemen. My daughter lives in Hoboken

My apologies. I live next door to Hoboken and have partied there on many ocassions. Great town. I just tend to see many drunk, scantily-clad, super-tan 20-something women hopping from bar to bar everytime I go out in that neighborhood. But I'm sure your daughter is not one of them.

As you said, Hoboken's proximity to Manhattan and it's corresponding easy public access to it (PATH subway and the ferry) has led to Hoboken becoming one of the most popular and most expensive places to live in NJ. Just to give you an example, a townhouse there will easily go for over $900k. Yes, that's right: a townhouse.

Some call it "the Boken of Hos."

But seriously, it's one of the most affluent towns in NJ, and I could see why anyone would want to live there. Hell, I want to live there. If you can't live in Manhattan, Hoboken is the next best thing.

I've been there many times, though not for Steelers reasons. The place is called Texas Arizona, and it's the closest bar to the PATH station. Great bar.

I can't remember what it was called, but you should know. I really liked Hoboken, I was there on business for a week.

On another note, I believe that when the "hackers" are located and prosecuted, part of their sentence should be to watch the Pirates 24 hours a day for the first year of incarceration. All 15 years of futility, to include Morris starts, Pirate transactions, and the best of all, the explanations of those transactions by the keynote speaker, David Littlefield.

I believe the 8th Amendment bars that sort of thing.

Are you sure? I thought the courts ruled that Waterboarding and its equivlant were not true torture.

I think that qualifies as a real good way to extract information to defend the homeland!

Glad Hoboken has changed. Twenty some years ago, went on a football trip to see the Mountaineers play Nebraska in what was then called the tip off Game to start the season. Stayed there and it needed much help. Saw a burned out car on the streets, the motel we were in was so bad we changed rooms three times before we found one that was even decent. There was a ten foot fence around the motel for security. The only bar we ventured into was a strip joint where the bouncer showed off the gun he was carrying on his waist.

Wow, need it need and sounds like it got some real improvements.
Obviously much has changed. Thank God

Ah, it must have been the Kick Off Classic. I wish they still had that every year. I'm assuming West Virginia won considering the looting that took place. Thank goodness...I hate the huskers!

I once watched an episode of the Twighlight Zone where there was a baseball team called the Hoboken Zephyrs. The story was that the pitcher was born without a heart and when they finally gave him one, he couldnt bear to get anyone out. In the end, the bad guy formed an entire team of these players without hearts and was unbeatable.

That sounds like a great episode of the Twilight Zone Kevin. I either never saw it or forgot about over the years. I wish some of these TV Stations would begin airing more of the older TV Series like The Twilight Zone.

Actually after posting, I did some research on the net and found that the episode was from season one and was called, "Mighty Casey".
