Any guesses as to who we got for Nady? They took him out of the game after the first, so it's pretty safe to assume that he's been traded.

Lanny just announced that Nady and Marte have been traded pending "medical reviews".

Boy, we gave up a lot with those two.

Nady has been one of my absolute favorites, real sorry to see him go. Marte has really done a nice job and of course has been oour closer(?) without Capps.

This year is gone period. Now, don't stop, let's move players to get some more good young talent.

They better have gotten very good kids for those two great players.

Nady's having a great year, but he is not the offense. Doumit, Bay and McLouth are having similar years, and LaRoche and Sanchez have finally heated up. If those two produce like they usually have for the rest of the year it will more than make up the difference between Nady and whoever replaces him.

Besides, I could give a hoot about this year. They weren't going to the playoffs anyway.

I for one am not getting my hopes up too high for the return. I would recommend that everybody not get theirs up too much either. The return will probably be decent but not incredible. I'm actually preparing for a very underwhelming return.

Jose Tabata, Ross Ohlendorf and two other minor league prospects from the SI link.

I was going to guess Tampa. Holy crap, I'm getting a bad feeling- I don't like much in the Yankees' system.

Newark Star-Ledger says the trade is to the Yankees and that in addition to the names someone already mentioned, it also includes Trenton Thunder righthanded starter Phil Coke. He's 26, has a 2.76 ERA.

I'm not liking the sounds of this trade at all but I'll reserve judgement until I hear the official word.

I would think either Kennedy or Jackson has to be coming our way for NH to give up both Nady and Marte. If its just a collection of middling prospects, you would think one of Marte or Nady would have fetched a couple of them.

My 2008 BA handbook (printed before the season started) ranks them this way:

3) Tabata OF - Born 1988, B-T RR, 5'11", 160lbs. One of the minors "brightest" prsospects until having right wrist hit by a ball in 2006. Finally had surgery last August to remove his hamate bone. This zapped some power but he is still expected to have at least average pop. Plus speed but average base runner. Solid average arm. Questionable effort. Good upside. Projected to break in 2010.

9) Ohlendorf RHP - Born 1982, B-T RR, 6"4", 235lbs. Princeton grad. Sinker-slider pitcher who relies on the ground out. Fastball sits at 94 mph and tops out at 97 mph with excellent sink. Command and mental stability progessed immensly when moved to the pen. Could be a sinkerballing setup man.

40 IP pitched so far this year with the Yankees, 6.53 ERA, 36K, 19BB, 1.73WHIP

Ranked the Yanks 4th best prospect. RHP with above average command and a 88 - 92 mph fastball. Average slider and curve. Plus changeup with late fade his bread and butter pitch. Projected to be a 3 or 4 starter.

What the Hell do they see in this Ohlendorf guy? He's 26 with a 6 and a half ERA! They'd better get someone who can take JVB and Herrera's next starts! Tabata and Jackson look good. They're VERY young with lots of upside, although they are righthanded.

Turns out that Coke, who was pulled from tonight's game after one inning, is a lefty.

And -- stop me if you've heard this one before -- he has a history of elbow problems.

Absolute joke.

1 legit prospect and 3 suspect pitchers

Jose Tabata - young OF with attitude problems, aka, Jose Guillen
Ross Ohlendorf - RH pitcher who is 26, yes that's right 26 years old.
Phil coke - LH pitcher, who is 25, yes that's right 25 years old.
George Kontos - RH pitcher, who is 23 and never mentioned as a top end prospect.
