That would have been an electric game to be at for sure! Does anyone remember why the game was sold out?

Well, contrary to what Bullish Hitter may believe, the game sold out because after the win, the Bucs were tied for first with those Astros. Put a winner on the field and fans will show up...crazy concept, huh?

If memory serves me, it was a fireworks night. I believe that the first line in the [i]Post-Gazette[i] article about the game stated something to the effect of: "They came for fireworks and left with history."

Mark Smith was money that year ... three game-winning HR's, two walk-offs (vs. Astros, Dodgers).

What an awesome way to celebrate this anniversary by winning a game in nearly as dramatic fashion. Sure, the '97 version clinched a no-no, but to score 8 runs in the last three innings with huge HR's by Bay (sure, he isn't clutch is he?), Nate and the new Mark Smith, Jason Michaels! Damn he is money in the clutch this year!!!
