I don't think snell is every going to be really good.
Yeah he pitched a no-hitter in the minors , but how long on we going to wait on him to do something good this year before he's down in triple A with gorzo.

You seem to forget what happened last year.

I still don't consider that a good year.
I think being Pirate fans we seem to have forgot what a real good year looks like.
Its not a year where you go 9-12 and call that a career year.
That doesn't make you good.
He had a good slider last year and now it just seems everybody is ready for that slider since it is his only good pitch.

Records arent everything you measure a pitcher by...his first half of last season was damn good...and the season prior, proved he was going to be a good pitcher...

A pitcher's win-loss record tells you very little about how good the pitcher is. In order to win a game, a team needs to score more runs than it allows. Snell has very little control over how many runs his team scores, and in case you forgot, the 2007 Pirates had a bad offense (12th in the NL in runs scored). Snell had a 3.76 ERA (4.04 RA), 177 Ks and only 68 BBs, all in 209 IP. On any other team, Snell likely would have had 15 wins to his name that season. It's not fair to punish Snell for the failures of the offense.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: pitchers do not win games; teams do.

The Bullington situation makes you realize how bad DL was. Not that I needed another reminder.
