Look at it this way: Barthmaier was just trying to show that he fits right in.

He sees Maholm give up 3 in the top of the first to the Yankees and thinks, "Hey, I can do that."

He sees Duke fall behind 8-0 and says to himself, "If he can do it, so can I."

I see Danny Bautista has hurt his arm already.

That's just great.

Anyone on the board know how serious it is?

Not many good things came from this game but if there is one good thing it would have to be how good Sean Burnett pitched. He didn't have much time to warm up and he was rushed in because of the injury to Bautista , but i think it was his best outting of the year. After getting rocked in Chicago Burnett has brought us three straight good relief appearences. Is it time to start talking about moving Burnett back to the rotation. It couldn't be any worse than how they tried to ruin Jimmy Barthmier tonight.

When you are coming in to replace an injured pitcher you are permitted to warm up as long as you need to.

Well thanks for telling me that.I wasn't aware that you could take as much time as needed. It seemed like they were in a rush.

He probably didn't take long to warm up after the injury because he was probably already loosening up along with Bautista in the pen when Jimmy Olsen was throwing Batting Practice...
