Meanwhile in Toronto, in only the 4th inning the Blue Jays already have 15 hits and lead the Reds 11-1.

An Adam LaRoche triple.

If I die tonight at least I can be satisfied that I have indeed seen everything.

Top of the 6th. Bucs up 7-1. Not even Gorzelanny and the bullpen can blow this one, right?

Right? :?

Are we gonna see Damon or Matsui in this series?

Considering they just blew a lead off the same proportion a week ago, I would unfortunately say no, this is still anybody's game.

Whew, Yates had me worried. But Marte comes up big.

Six more outs to get.

And another Buc insurance run or three would be good.

Even with a four run lead, I feel queasy about how this is going to finish up.

What the heck has got into LaRoche tonight? 3-for-4, 2 RBI. Well, now.

Sanchez 2-4 with 2 runs and a RBI as well. Oh, how I wonder about the "what if" scenarios ...

EDIT: Make that 3-5 for Freddy.

I would really be interested to dig up how many PH singles Gomez has this year.

Good ole Osoria. Even in this game, he comes in the bottom of the 9th and can't throw strikes then gives up a HR. Oh well though, not going to let his performance ruin a great win.

Coming into tonight's game Gomez was 4-14 with four singles and a walk as a pinch hitter this year. So far it's been a bit of an off year for him as a pinch hitter so far, but he's doing okay.

What a nice game and satisfying win for our Buccos. Lot of good things happened tonight.
LaRoche - 3 hits, Freddy - 3 hits, Doumit-- first game back after 5-- and 3 hits (home run), Batista another home run. Some of the guys we need to get going got going at least for tonight.

19 hits tonight by everyone. Great to do that to the Yankees. I know 2 starters were out, so what?

Gorzo gets the win. He pitched poorly but got great support in the field and to his credit got the ground balls when he needed them. In just three of his 6 innings he gave up 4 hits and 5 walks-- 9 base runners in three innings and got away with most of it. Maytbe that win will turn him around??

Great game tonight.I usually like to look at the bad points but i really don't have many tonight. The only thing i can say from this game is more a question on the whole season. Why do the pirates let osoria pitch so much that he leads the major leagues in relief innings.I don't get it.hes almost double the inning sthat Marte , Yates , Grabow , and Capps have.thats crazy to me.With those guys as the main options(not counting Burnett , Beam and guys like that.for the exception of those 2 i think Osoria should have the least amount of innings pitched.Atleast behind Marte and Yates.Grabow is the set up and i can see why he wouldnt get that many innings and Capps the closer but Osoria having more inning pitched than Marte and Yates is a joke

Osoria gets more innings because he is more durable, and can pitch in every mop-up or non-essential situation (which, for the Pirates, is pretty damn often). However, I do agree that Russell has used him in situations where he should not have. But I guess when Yates is your only other right handed option, its basically a coin flip. Yates will walk runs home, and Osoria will give up the homer.

Also, I would disagree that Grabow is the primary setup man. Marte is used far more (and should be) in that role than Grabow.
