I've got my broom, Ollie, I wonder if I smack Snell with it hard enough if he will fly all the way back to last season when he could pitch?

8 baserunners in 3 innings. That sucks.

Well, that makes nine baserunners with the home run to make it 3-1. Looks like the end is near again for Ian 'I used to pitch' Snell.

Now it's 8 hits and 3 walks in 3 1/3 innings. Here we go again.

Feel sorry for Russell-- who's he got to bring in ???

Now a wild pitch , oh my...

I know we have a very depleted bullpen, but bringing in TJ Beam to get his first taste of big league action this year in a 4-4 ball game? Damn.

And the first batter he faces ... he hits Scott Rolen.

It's not that I'm not giving him a chance, it's just I don't know if I would bring him in in such a tight ball game. But yeah, he got it done (despite giving up 2 walks and being assisted by a DP), so I'll shut up now.

McLouth leads off with a single, steals 2nd and Bay walks, 0 outs. Let's get the lead here.

Osoria has done a marvelous job of showing why we had to use TJ Beam in the 5th inning of a tie game.

Osoria's last two outings: 2-2/3 IP (so far), 7 hits, 6 runs (all earned), 2 HR.

Sigh.

Sigh. Indeed. And in honor of this event, I revisit my post from the first game in this series:"I just fear that soon we are going to have to turn to a Sean Burnett or a Franquelis Osoria. In that case, I'm frightened."

Runners on 2nd and 3rd, 0 outs. One run to show, from a ground out that got the runner home. Sigh.

OK, here comes a steady diet of their best relievers: Wolfe, BJ Ryan, and Downs.

Snell, Gorzelanny, and LaRoche are positively killing this team.

Today is the fourth time in his last eight starts that Snell has lasted only 4 innings.

In his last 80 at-bats, dating back to May 28, LaRoche has a pitiful 2 doubles and one measly HR.

And Tuesday we get to see Gorzelanny start vs. the Yankees. That ought to be good.

I think Gorzo is starting to figure it out. Although I agree with the assertion that he was overworked last year and it is having an effect this year. Hopefully he can at least continue to take baby steps forward.

Snell is a complete head case. Always has been. Not saying he didn't deserve the contract but you always worry about a guy who seems mentally unstable. And if you heard Walk in the postgame interview he stated, and I couldn't agree more, that a guy who usually throws 94-95 and is only throwing 89-90 isn't going to be confident. His stuff just isn't there this year for whatever reason. And his command because of it is gone.

LaRoche can't get out of here fast enough. He did hit the ball hard today, but his numbers are even bad for him. By early June he usually has picked up the pace, but this year he is taking "slow start" to all new levels. If there was any way to trade him it sure would free up a spot for Pearce or even a couple years down the road maybe Alvarez. That is if Walker makes progress and becomes the third baseman.
