What is up with Bautista and the long ball lately? Wow. And Chavez too? I didn't know if we'd ever see him go long. While I wish I could get excited, the Pirates need to actually contain this big lead. We saw just how easily they can blow them via the White Sox series. Hopefully Maholm can go a while ... it's nauseating to even think of who we might be bringing in from the 'pen tonight.

very nice game tonight.but something that does worry me is even in the games we win we have been being out hit.tonight the jays had 8 hits and we only had 6(3 of which were home runs).r bats need to pick up there averages not just runs scored.

The team that wins the game is the team that scores the most runs, not the team that gets the most hits.

i know that but how many times this year wouldnt 6 runs have been enough and if it wasnt torontos pitching we prolly would have only had 1 homerun at the most 2i just would like 2 see some of the overrated players like sanchez pick it up alittle for average.cause it seems like we have players in waves of 3 or 4 at a time do something in a year and if that could all happen at once we could b the wildcard right now.if laroche and sanchez had the year they did last year this year then bam! were the wild card right now.we cant relay on our pitching but the same goes for that.if snell and gorzo had there good year this year instead of last we could even b up there with the cubs right now.i think we also really need chris duffy 2 get off of the DL cause we could really use a spot starter like him and he is also very good 2 come off the bench cause he hits for average and hes got good speed also.reply if u like.i would like 2 hear what everybody else thinks about this

Hits for average? I don't recall Duffy doing much the past two seasons. He is great defensively though. I hope things work out for him.

I don't think there is much of a spot left for Duffy on this team. If Bay and Nady stay, and McLouth in center (where Duffy used to play), that's your OF. They already have what seems to be a nice OF addition to the bench in Michaels.

Welcome to the board, Colin. Glad to have you. The hitting was definitely not up to par last night, but let's not forget that we are without two of the best hitters on the team (Nady and Doumit) and they are replaced with two of the worst in Morgan and Chavez (granted, he hit a dinger last night).
