Would it be blasphemous to say that he makes me miss Bootcheck???

Hmm... on the other hand, I'd better not even think such things.

I think I heard "Wanna getaway?" like in the Southwest airlines commercials.

Maybe there is a silver lining to this cloud: if Penn keeps getting drilled like this, then maybe he will clear waivers.

The Penn is mightier than the sword? Oh, that just makes no sense at all. Don't be 'Hayden' me for that.

If Mike Swords ever makes it to the major leagues and Penn strikes him out, that's gold.

At this rate, it looks far more likely that Penn works his way down to the United League ... and the headline reads: "Swords Mightier Than Penn."

At this juncture, I think Penn could make it through the waiver wire. Might be a shot...

Anyone get SI?

Anyone read the Roy Halladay story in the latest issue?

Same situation. Almost to a tee.

Penn looked good last night. His command was shaky but he was able to get the curveball in the strike zone most of the time, and kept the fastball on the edges of the strike zone most of the time. When your fastball is 93-95, that's all you need to do.

That was the only inning I saw, but apparently Morton was doing just the opposite when he got hammered.
