Will the "ignore" button be reinstated? That was the greatest feature of the old board.

Mayor....that is in your profile. You can establish "friends" or "foes". I'm planning to issue an economic stimulus package to anyone who puts me in their friends list.

Awesome Brad, thanks for the tip.

I also think your Economic Stimulus package is a good idea. Will you impose an extra tax on those who make you a "foe"?

It depends on how "bullish" the market is.

BD, good to see your old avatar back :) I did chuckle a little when I saw a life-size Indians version in Major League.

Kudos to BB for getting our message board back fully intact.

I'm getting quite sick of the hackers. I don't understand why we've become a target, as I don't see how shutting us down provides any value to anyone, even fans of rival teams.

My sense is (mind you I have no more knowledge of the situation than anyone else) that it is one of two things:

1. Fans of some other team who just think its funny to do this sort of stuff.
2. Some professional hacker who is doing it just to add to his number(s). Not sure if we are an easy target or anything, but like buccoboy told me, they do this for the same reason graffitti artists tag buildings...more tags=more cred.

Does anyone know if there are software programs/online services that will monitor your site and track down hackers? My guess is that even if they exist they are extraordinarily expensive, as probably only corporate sites with a lot to lose would invest in them.

Maybe it is just someone trying to put us out of our misery. I wish he would hack our pitching staff instead.

"The_Tracy_Turnaround" .... you know, given how things turned out last year, I can't say I'm surprised that guy did not come back.

Ollie, how did you come up with that list? Have you been saving it?

Yeah I compiled it in Dec. '06. I always laugh when I read that name The_Tracy_Turnaround. lol

I also have the entire chat session of this year's opener in Atlanta, the 12-11 12 inning win at Atlanta. I copied and pasted it to my yahoo. It's quite long!

I noticed that the google ads are back at the bottom of the board. I would hope everyone would be willing to explore the "cheap Pirates tickets" possibilities to support those who got the board up and running. ;) ;) ;)

Yup..found my way back. So expect the rare post with a weak joke.

You probably know this, but regarding the Google ads: make sure you don't have the "referral ads" option selected. Those are great if someone purchases a ticket, but that's a big drop-off. Less than 1% of the 5% who actually click-though purchase one. You get better results with just the plain ol' Google ads.

Ollie,

Have only just seen the historical list of members that you produced.
This is a wonderful piece of archive material.
Unfortunately, it appears that we have lost some 25% of those named.
