Snell already has the Pirates in a hole, 2-zip, in the first inning, on two walks and two doubles. It took him 30 pitches to get three outs.

Well, this is a disappointing outing from Snell. I wanted to believe that he had started to turn the corner against Washington, but alas, it looks like it was just the fact that Washington has a horrid offense.

A homer to Dye, and a ground rule double. He will be lucky to throw 4 innings tonight.

What happened to the bulldog mentality from last year? He's turned into a nibbler. Doumits groin is going to burst if he has to keep setting up outside.

A balk! Nice. Get your head outta your ass Ian!

Yes, Snell is clearly not the pitcher he was last year. He's less aggressive, less inclined to establish his space. One could make the case that he's riding his new contract!

Its almost as if he doesn't trust his stuff. And while I generally don't try to judge "stuff" over the TV, he is certainly getting hit hard when he is in the zone, suggesting he might have good reason to not trust his stuff.

Ahhh...the power of negativity helps Ian to a 1-2-3 inning...

Salas' 2nd stint with the big league club looks like it may be even shorter than the first. Where's Ryan Vogelsong when you need him?

Vogelsong's page on the official Hanshin Tigers site. He wears the # 4!!!
He, Scott Atchison, and Lew Ford are the three gaijin players this year.

I remember people suggesting we trade Kris Benson for Doug Mientdhunfvibwitz and Lew Ford. Ha.

Sadly, that might have worked out better than what we did get.
