In Eldred's defense, he was limited to 18 games in '06, his age 25 season. Then last year the previous regime had the brilliant idea of making him a rightfielder, beginning at the major league level. That's 2 prime years of hitting development lost.

While it's good to see him having some success, I note he is apparently at the AA level for the ChiSox.

SC, the Baseball Cube has it wrong. Charlotte is in the South Division of the AAA International League. In fact, it will play 4 in Indianapolis (West Division) in July and 4 vs. Indianapolis at Charlotte in August.

There's no question that his injury in 2006 was a serious problem, but he didn't lose a year of development last year. He played 86 games at Indy, where he flat sucked. The idea of putting him in right field wasn't a bad one. He looked passable out there. I see that he's played 12 games in right this year.
