A few things to remember after tough Pirate losses:

1) Your family still loves you just as much after a Pirate loss as they do after a Pirate win (this may or may not be a good thing).

2) It's almost time for the Steelers to report to Latrobe.

3) They still have a better winning percentage than you predicted they'd have back in March.

4) It looks like the Penguins have a real shot a resigning Hossa.

5) Ronnie Paulino has an OPS of 1.540 at Indy.

6) None of the pitchers the Buccos took in the draft has had an arm fall off yet.

7) Your penis is still the same size after a Pirate loss as it is after a Pirate win (again, this may or may not be a good thing).

8) The sun will come up tomorrow.

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There'll be sun!

Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
'Til there's none!

When I'm stuck with a day
That's gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
Away!

It is a very difficult loss. I appreciate the children's song here and hope that I'm not driven to seek professional help yet.

It reminds me somehow of the Yankee series last year. No, we didn't error our way to lose these but the feeling is the same. We are quickly losing our mo-jo-------.

It well may be the signature loss of the season which is bringing on a long series of loses. One more today against a very average Baltimore team and then on to the White Sox for a real beating.

I know we're bad on the road but this is a really bad sign for the rest of the season. If my feelings are correct, we are headed for a very difficult month of getting the shi... kicked out of us.

Oh, when will it ever end?

Not really, but I'm used to coming here after a loss and seeing lots of folks talking like their dogs just died. Plus I was feeling kind of silly this morning.

Just close your eyes and think of Andrea McArdle and everything will be all right.

Did any of you ever hear Jay Z's version of "Tomorrow?" One version has the theme of "Fat Albert" in the background. Classic!

Oh and, Sisy, some of us follow pro football teams that rival the Pirates in ineptitude (think Lions!) I'm looking more forward to high school football and following the local kids with Ohio State (the Buckeyes will win it all this year!)

Ollie, never been an Ohio State fan. Many of them around here are very condesending to my boys at WVU. They usually bring out the worst in Mountaineer fans. BUT...

Since Michigan has dealt below the waist in hiring a certain low life as coach, OSU will have a new fan this November when they beat up the Maize and Blue.

What the hell is a buckeye anyway?

Ollie-- I have also enjoyed and coached high school ball for many years. I'm glad you still get a kick out of it. I guess that I've been to too many games cause I can take it or leave it.

It's just plain unfair that you ended up a fan of the Pirates AND the Lions.

I detest the Big 10 (and Notre Dame), but I'll join West Virginia fans in rooting for the Buckeyes against Michigan until Rodriguez is gone.

It's funny, I've lived in Cincinnati for quite a while now, and despise OSU. I typically root for the Wolverines in the rivalry game. I just have a very short level of interest for bandwagon fans, and Cincinnati is infested with them for the Buckeyes, even though they don't live in Columbus and probably have never been up to The Shoe for a game. The scarlet t-shirts available at grocery stores come out during the winning seasons. They say they are supporting "the local team". I always question why they don't go out and support the Bearcats instead (who finally have a sound football program going thanks to the signing of former Cenral Michigan/U of M's Brian Kelly)? After all, these are not the same Bengals fans who would also root for the Browns because they're "local" and another Ohio team.

Sis, thenks for the buckeye definition but I kinda knew since there is a tree of them nearby. Just commenting on the stupidity of using that as your calling card at OSU.

And let's go Blue-- I guess I'm a Mclouth kinda guy.

BTW the Mounties are going to be pretty good again, Pat White is still there.

Shark you're absolutely correct in suggesting that the Bearcats have a good program too.

I thought maybe that you lived somewhere that buckeyes didn't grow. Ya never know.

I've heard that said about Pitt and Penn State as well.

Big 10 is the most overrated conference in America.

Yep, except to Big 10 fans, who think it's underrated.
