Thanks to a postponed hearing, I'm watching this game on TV as opposed to sitting behind the Clemente Wall.

Two innings, three key mistakes by the offense.
1. Garrett Jones K'ing with a runner on third and one out in the first inning. On 3-1, he swung at ball four. On 3-2, he swung at ball four.
2. Steve Pearce Kiing with a runner on third on none out in the first inning. He struck out on a ball out of the zone.
3. Lastings Milledge not running on contact from 3rd base with one out and the pitcher on deck. Cruz's bouncer to the shortstop would have resulted in a run had he simply gone on contact.

As for pitching . . . note to Ohlendorf . . . Jimmy Rollins will go yard if you leave a pitch over the plate.

Biggest disappointment thus far: Doumit's HR would have gone right over my head if it wasn't for the postponed hearing. Damn!

Good heavens, Jones, put the freaking ball in play. Three times in three innings cannot score the run from third, less than two outs = 3 runs.

Should be 4-2 Pirates.

Three XBH in three innings, including a HR, yields ... one run.

4-3, actually. Ryan Howard also struck out with a man at third and less that two outs.

Good to see Russell have a lefty to go to in the late innings. Unfortunately, he is getting behind in the count and you can't do that against this lineup.

Did anyone else cringe when they saw Matt Capps enter this game? The Phillies have this one won.

Time for your comments about poorly placed straight fastballs.

I am kind of glad they shut down Evan Meek for the season. I definitely see him being our closer in 2010.

Also . . . I completely disagreed with bunting LaRoche in the 8th. I like the notion of doing what you can to get an extra run but I wouldn't have taken the bat out of Doumit's hands.

I think I've seen this episode before. Time to find something else to watch...

Is anyone watching the game? Are they booing Capps? They should be on every pitch.

Not only did he blow the save, he got hit HARD. Two doubles and a triple. Capps is done. He is mentally fried.

$20 Moss grounds into a double play. Any takers?

Darn. Brad Lidge ruined it for me. Maybe Moss can hit it to the right side. Of course, a man on third with less than two outs hasn't been kind to the Pirates.
