He has looked good tonight. He isn't out of the woods yet, but it is good to see him get going against even the unspectacular Reds pitching staff. He may never hit above .300 again with the lefty shift being used by many teams, but he can still hit the ball outta the park. If he can hit the ball the other way a little more often while batting lefty, he will be an unstoppable monster. As some of us have said before, it is tough to come back from those wrist injuries. Way to go Doumit!

Good call. Doumit showed signs last night, blistering two balls that were caught by the Reds. He should have had two hits last night.

He is heating up and can stay hot for 2 weeks. Garrett Jones, by the way, is also hitting well.

Gee, the middle of the order hits and the Pirates score runs. With this pitching, when they score some runs they win. What a surprise ...

Seeing Jones hit with runners on is an encouraging sight. I'm still pretty happy with his performance overall. We are starting to get to the point where we have a large enough sample size to say that he has the makings of a legitimate major leaguer. Maybe not a superstar, but a guy that has some pop, some speed and some smarts.

Nice to see him the last two games. Friday, he hit the ball with authority but no success. Last night is the Doumit I wanted to return to our team. Hope he now has the necessary confidence to play up to his ability. Think he might.
