2008 draft pick Justin Wilson, who won the College World Series title game for Fresno State last year, is quietly putting together a very effective second half of the season for Lynchburg. In his last 6 starts, Wilson has gone 3-1, and has pitched 33 1/3 innings, giving up just 20 hits, 11 walks, 29 K's, and a miniscule 3 earned runs for an ERA of 0.81.

He was dominant in his last start, going 7 innings, giving up 5 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and 11 K's against Myrtle Beach. Way to go, Wilson.

I noticed that. He's not even on the list of top prospects anymore what with all the depth we've acquired, but I'd like to see him do well. I think his arm was dead after that NCAA run last year. Looks like it's recovering nicely. BTW, Bucfan, I enjoyed your post about post trade replacements. As far as position players, we're not losing much in the present, and 2011 is looking good.

I thought that I've stated it before, Bucfan, but let me repeat. I always find your post very informative. I get information from many posters here but you are the best in my opinion. I don't necessarily agree with you all the time but I do find you very knowledgable on subjects of baseball. You have a logical way of presenting data that helps me learn about the Pirates and baseball in general. So, thanks for your research and clear statement of opinion.

You guys are too nice. I was making fun of myself, since Ryann is no longer here to do so.
