If we don't have a 5 run lead by the 7th, do we just chalk it up as a loss?

We might need 6 against this lineup, but we are killing it!

Nothing like a .200 hitter tying the game. Way to go Paul.

I hate to say this.. but that guy deserved to get hurt.. what a dumb idiot..

Word of advice.. stay off the playing surface fans!! If the ball gets hit into the stands.. go ahead try for it.. but stop diving and leaning over onto the field. Half the time you fans fall over onto the field. This guy took it one more step and took a leap!!! haha.. what the heck was he thinking.. I guess he really wanted that golden baseball hit by Garrett Jones!! haha

And, that's why EVERY fan should be kicked out for falling on the field trying for a foul ball.

Wow. that St. Louis fan took a serious digger right on his face! He was indeed dumb.

I think the guy got too excited to see a foul ball come his way and he just bent over wayyyy too far over the railing and fell flat on his head. He should have known he couldn't pull off that see-saw type of maneuver without holding onto the railing. He should have never tried for it.

Edit : Kudos to Pujols for helping out there. He really is a good guy. I have seen him signing balls for kids before the games many times.

ooookaaay....but, the railing is what...2 ft high? how serious of an injury could he possibly have sustained? did he get the ball in the noggin upon hitting the ground?

He fell maybe 2 or two and half feet straight down on his forehead into the dirt/clay.

They only showed it once.. but I think the guy actually dove onto the field.. it was quite rediculous considering his age, let alone going after a baseball like that.

Let's hope we can get to Franklin in the 9th. Even when Carpenter gives up a good amount of hits, he still goes 8 strong. He = monsterhorse like nobody other than maybe Halladay.

I know the results weren't good (aided by some poor defense), but I thought Ascanio looked better than I expected. I don't know if they're still thinking of making him a starter, but he looks to have closer stuff.

Maholm giving up the free pass to Lugo on 4 or 5 pitches before Greene's double was just inexcusable. He's taken the ubiquitous step back by a Buc pitcher who once showed pretty good promise.

Well i didn't watch or listen to any of the game tonight thinking that it might help since i decided i am back luck, but it appears it isn't me that is bad luck anymore. Another though loss. I just hope we can win 2 out of our next 4 games so we don't risk a 1-9 or an 0-10 over our last 10 games.

it's the avoidable mistakes and the mental errors that are frustrating me. The home runs?...ok..those are going to happen...I'd have to consider those unavoidable at this point..but..

the fundamentals aren't being executed. Bunts are not getting down. No one can hit behind the runner and for the most part doesn't look like they're trying.

this is fundamental winning baseball...required learning.

WAY too many runners are stealing bases uncontested. 3b is also being stolen way too often.

Need better base running decisions.
Delwyn ran us out of an inning/avoidable. It seems like someone is doing this on a regular basis. STOP IT!
Delwyn doesn't catch Doumit's throw at 2b/avoidable. The "new at 2B" grace period is over. That cost us runs.
(love the .300 BA, and the fielding is improving..but cut out the mental errors!)
Outfielders not backing up the play/avoidable and INEXCUSABLE.

not exectuing throws from the outfield
Garrett...you're a big leaguer now...put the throw on the plate not over everyone's head./ maybe not avoidable...but we have to have better throws made from our right fielders or every team will go 1st to 3rd on us w/o hesitation...even catchers.

Man just looking at this list of things that happened in last night's game...ONE GAME is depressing! And we only lost by 2. All this and we still have a bullpen that isn't performing....

this crap will keep us from winning even after the young talent matures. C'mon boys! Play like it means something. Rant over and out.

The guy falling over the railing last night was a momentum killer for the Pirates. I'm not convinced that it was all an accident either...seeing as how he was a Cards fan.
