Just visited with Sean Burnett and Nyjer Morgan in the Washington clubhouse. Most of the fuss there was over Joe Beimel, then Nick Johnson getting traded. Burnett and Morgan each seemed to be in exceptional spirits, no doubt the result of their outstanding play since joining the Nationals. It was easy to see, too, what they meant when they said they had been accepted by their new teammates.

"It's just a great group, and I think it's going to be a great team," Burnett said. "There's a lot of talent here."

Burnett's comments about the Pirates in the Post-Gazette this morning ticked off some in management, and Burnett was aware of that but did not seem troubled by it in the slightest, shrugging when asked about it.

Oh, and Morgan asked to have his picture taken for the blog in his new uniform. He likes "the threads," likes the black and red shoes even better, and said he is looking forward to talking to fans in "Morgantown" tonight.

Burnett said of Morgan: "He's just unbelievable right now. Like Pujols. He even led off with a home run the other day."

"I'm just feeling good right now, you know?" Morgan said.

Jesus, now Nyjer Morgan is Albert Pujols. That ought to put anything that Burnett says into its proper perspective. He's daft.

Daft is a kind word to describe him. It probably didn't take much for Doumit to steal Sean's woman :D
