Giants not playing Sanchez. Letting knee "heal." Yeah, right. They are just trying to avoid the vesting option if Freddy hits 600 plate appearances!!!!

It will be very interesting to see what he gets if the option doesn't vest.

Pirates resting Sanchez - avoiding the vesting by cheap organization.
Giants resting Sanchez - good personnel management and preservation of resources.

Simple, really.

Freddy wasn't crying when Wilson got traded because he would miss his friend, but because he knew he was next and that $8 million would become a pipe dream. Two years and $10 million may not seem so bad of a deal right now.

Wait till you see what they get offered in the off season.

Seattle is rumored (I repeat "RUMORED") to be seriously considering picking up Jack's option for next year. If so, big payday for Jack.

If the Giants are benching Freddy to avoid the option, I have no idea why they traded for him in the first place.

Always a risk vs. reward element. If he gets healthy and hits 335 the rest of the season, someone may take a chance. However, if he gets just well enough to play out the string while sucking at the plate.............

Of course if he gets his 600 PAs all bets are off.

Also, Gorzo reported to the Cubs AAA affiliate in Iowa. Wonder when he'll get called up?

I will repeat. Orlando Hudson, the best 2B in the NL got 3.4 mil from the Dodgers for 1 year. He is a player I would pursue. Great player, great guy, good character and a leader for the young guys. 3 years 20 mil.

How weird would it be if Freddy or Jack came back in the offseason for their original offers or less?

Highly doubt it, but you never know...

Sabean has no idea either. He just thought that it seemed like the thing to do at that time.
