Sean Burnett spoke about the Pirates spate of moves, and commented: ""It's funny, but Nyjer and I knew this was going to happen," Burnett said last night from Milwaukee, shortly after hearing that the Pirates continued their trading binge by sending away John Grabow and Tom Gorzelanny. "They're the laughingstock of baseball right now. They've gotten rid of everybody. They won't keep anybody around. Some of the guys here, they don't understand it, but Nyjer and I knew this was coming."

Dude ... your present team is 32-70.

I am hoping in 2011 or 2012, I will be able to send a greeting card to Sean Burnett saying "Who's laughing now, bitch?" with a picture of my ass enclosed.

The "laughingstock" gets their shot at the stellar Nationals pitching staff including Burnett this weekend. Funny that the Pirates became the laughingstock of baseball due in large part to poor top draft picks such as the great Sean Burnett.

Oh and by the way, put your hat on straight Sean. You're not CC Sabathia or even Sean Combs for that matter.

I can't say i dislike Sean Burnett as a player because i thought he was better than we used him, but what a stupid thing to say. He always has that stupid look on his face like he is getting ready to drool like a st. bernard so i doubt he has alot upstairs.

We are the laughingstock of baseball, but it's not because we are rebuilding like he thinks. The real reason is because we've lost for 17 straight years.

The Nationals/Expos don't exactly have a real strong track record of winning either.

If we are a laughingstock, it's because we drafted players like him who have been the reason we have failed.

Wake up Sean and look in the mirror.

Yeah but without him they'd be 31.8975 - 70.1025.

Laughingstock indeed.

This laughingstock will be pretty well stocked in the minors going into next year especially if we can sign our "Big 3" draft picks and Sano.

This has bugged me from day one and one of the reasons I never liked him.

When Sean was 21 he looked like he was going to be a good one. He had a devastating change up. Then he hurt his shoulder and elbow..

I don't blame him for spouting off.. many of us would do the same if we were in his situation (yeah, it would've looked better if he didn't play for the worst team.) Actually I am in his situation now. I just wish I had been traded to another company.

And Sean may still get his chance to play for a winning team someday. I always liked him because he looks like my nephew.. seriously!

I'm more curious what Ryan Doumit and Zach Duke think actually..

True that a player from the team with the worst record in baseball calling another team a laughingstock is funny, but the truth is that the Pirates are indeed a laughingstock

Too bad that Burnett spouted off. When will these guys learn? He would have been cheered this weekend at PNC, I would think. Now? Not so much.

When McClouth got traded he was one of the players with the candle deal. Huntington sealed his fate right then by saying we'd prefer our players actually doing something before running their mouths. And that's exactly right. A guy who couldn't stay off the DL, couldn't make it as a starter, and had to settle in as a middle reliever, not to mention not being in the league long shouldn't run his mouth. He is an idiot playing for the worst team in baseball and seems bitter that a guy as talented as himself was traded for *gasp* a flame throwing(Which Burnett would know nothing about) possible closer and a first rate 22 year old OF prospect. Geesh....what were we thinking....

Should he have said that? Probably not, however he is not lying. If you listen to other media outlets, the Pirates are a joke.

Maybe I missed us receiving a 22 year old OF prospect from the Nationals. Milledge was 24 in April.

The sports media, especially sports radio, is mostly comprised of complete morons who would not know how to build a baseball team if you spotted them Roy Halladay and Albert Pujols. They see the 17 years of losing and laugh, but they ignore everything that's gone on with the team in the past couple years. I'm really not concerned about their opinions.
