I ordered one of the Pirates Charities bags during the recent charity night. It arrived today. We make fun of bobble head dolls and stuff like that but this bag is really nice. It has tons of items in it, including a hat, shirt, towel and surprisingly a Cutch autographed ball that I was definitely not expecting. It also has a voucher for tickets which are nice.

I give kudos to the club for a job well done here. I would recommend it next year if you are able.

Wow that's a nice package there. What was the minimun you could donate to get one of those?

$100. I really wasn't expecting that much. I know some bags had extras in them - it's possible I got one of those w/ more. The ball looks like it was in pen (by hand) so it would be worth something in and of itself.

I just picked $100 because it was a round number and was "doable".

Very cool. I'll be honest, I didn't know anything about this. Next time anyone sees this let the board know. I think a "goody bag" means more to people away from Pittsburgh than it would those close to the area. There is little to be had when it comes to the Pirates here in Omaha! :P

Oh yeah, and the whole charity thing is nice too! ;)

Interesting, because I bought one during the game where they did the Pirate's charities auction too and was wondering why I hadn't gotten it yet. How did it come? UPS? Fed Ex? US mail?

Actually that's an area that could be improved. I didn't know anything about it either, but it was announced on FSN during the game. It was a rainy day against the Mets (I think) right before the AS break and no one was at the game.

I think you're right about the goodies, I can't get them here so it's a good incentive for us that can't just go to a store to buy stuff. You should try to buy a Pirates hat in Boston :)

IA - you can just buy an Iowa thing and at least it's black n gold :)

It came FedEx ground. I bet you'll get it in the next 1-2 days since AZ is further then Boston.

Yeah this is the first i hear about the charity night also. I would think they would promote it alittle better. They have pushed the floppy hat that is coming up to death.

Did you get this yet? Post when you do. I'm interested to know if it's the same.
