After six we're down 2-0 to Wandy Rodriguez and company.
Bases loaded two out, of course La Roche did nothing..

Another nice effort from Dumatrait. Shame he got no support.

Laroche hit the ball on the nose and lined out.

Pirate hitting has been horrid tonight. The failure to get hits with runners on base is the reason for the deficit.

And P.S. - Tyler Yates is the slowest pitcher (in terms of his pace) on the team. He needs to get the ball, get his sign, and throw.

Part of his terrible control may be related to his incredibly deliberate pace. By the time he throws the next pitch, three super delegates have switched allegiance.

I wouldn't call smacking a sharp line drive "nothing".

P.P.S. This game is incredibly boring. Pirates look like they would rather be anywhere else.

What the hell, I share their view. I am outta here to do something with the evening rather than waste any more time watching this death march.

And in terms of everything else too. Well, I dunno, may be a tie with Capps.

If they are saving up for yet another big late game comeback, they are sure cutting it close tonight. Who's due up in the 9th?

Well, at least it was yet another good start by Dumatrait. It has been quite some time since our pitching staff has limited the other team to 2 runs. More times than not this season it is going to be the pitching which loses the ball game, not the hitting.

The last two innings were great - I left and went for a run. Beautiful night, calm and cool, no wind. Park was crowded, lots of pretty girls out running and smiling as I ran past.

Much better than watching the Pirates sleepwalk to a loss.

That's what I loved about Mike Gonzalez. He was one of the fastest-working pitchers I've ever seen.

I didn't witness this with my eyes so, yes, I am rushing to judgement.. should we give credit to the defense for playing him to hit where he did? I guess I should give La Roche credit for getting contact.. certainly he tried his best. I was hoping he'd drive one into the gap..

Tejada was definitely playing him up the middle. He didn't have to go far to get that one.

Hey Bucfan-- Is there a nice bench where you run on nice cool evenings with those pretty girls smiling? My, my that sounds like my kind of spectator sport. If only the smiles would shine on me.

Plenty of benches in the park, Sub. But the pretty girls are all running so they will pass by pretty quickly. Better to be on your feet, moving, to keep up with them.
